9th grade Math
first semester
As 9th grader in Math, it goes like this. Mr I, my teacher, told the class what unit we were going to do, then we worked on it for about a month. Some more, some less. The whole class would work on the problem and sometimes, someone would spark a debate. There was obviously an assessment at the end of each unit where the whole period was spent on a quiz. After the quiz, those who missed questions have to do revisions and we had to turn that in after a couple of days. There weren't any projects in the first semester so this is what we did.
second semester
The shark tank project was really the most important thing in the second semester. It was our math project for the last exhibition at school. Everyone pitched in ideas on what they wanted to sell for shark tank and the top three of the class were chosen. Each company sold different products and each company member had different roles. Our main goal was to make as much profit as we could before and during exhibition., and we sold at the big farmers market at the dia de los muertos exhibition.

One of my strengths this unit was asking for help, because I needed it a lot. In the first semester, I always knew that my tablemates were honest people and I could ask them for help when I needed it, but I never did. I think it was because I didn't know what I needed help with. I needed to know what were the right questions to ask. And I also think that math helped me with comprehending information and understanding what it means. Math wasn't just about the curriculum, but also other skills like self advocating and collaboration. .
